The Charms of Leblon Beach

Right at the heart of Rio, Leblon Beach is one of the many charming spots of the town. Separated from Ipanema beach by Allah’s Gardens, this is a place of contrasts, as here one may find both dangerous favelas aiming for the long hour street fights in the lower region as well as impressive residential communities on the upper coast.

This is the area where most of the famous buildings and exclusive hotels are located. Marina Hotel could be one of the expensive accommodation choices for you if you wish to admire the sunset from your veranda.

The beach offers many attractions to its tourists, mainly families with kids that come here to sunbathe, play and mold some impetuous white sand castles for the thrill and joy of their babies.

Still young couples may enjoy the lively night life scene with its fascinating blend of beach, bars and boutiques. Leblon sands are the core attraction of the day for the joggers, cyclers and active people loving to kip fit, exercise and relax.

Cariocas are very focused on working out and looking good. Every day you will see people jogging and biking down the beach or other boardwalks. It’s just a way of life here.

If you’re a volleyball lover, this is the place to enjoy one of the best matches of foot volley. Players are quite good at Leblon so you’ll have to prove out all your talents if you wish to impress the beautiful girls that seat still on their exotic kangas throwing a wink of an eye towards the volleyball field.

Like all other beaches in Brazil, here as well, you’ll find people selling you everything you could imagine. You don’t even have to get off the beach towel. But they won’t hound you, just say one “no” and they’ll let you bathe in the sun and catch all the rays.

Lebolonbeach is also a place of nice kiosks where you can take a sip of cerveja and admire the beautiful tanned beauties laying down on their colorful kangas. Passionate photographers will also discover beautiful panorama to catch while taking a long tranquil stroll on Leblon beach.

Another spot awaiting to be discovered by visitors, situated in the region close to Leblon is the controversed favela (community) of Vidigal. If you wish to take a tour, by all means do not get adventurous by night.

This charming area of Rio is also famous for its chic restaurants preparing delicious Brazilian recipes. While in Leblon pay a visit to Antiquarius, located on Rua Aristides Espínola, 19. Feel free to book your table at 2294-1049.

These are just a few tips to let you know how interesting and fun your vacation in Leblon would prove to be. If Brazil is next on your travel list don’t hesitate to stop by on Leblon Beach and enjoy all its charms!
